From the twenties of the last century there has been an "Italian way" to tango both instrumental and vocal (the famous “tango delle capinere” was written in 1928). In this tradition I would insert this cd containing 12 tracks for bandoneon solo composed by me.
Although my musical roots are jazz, blues and folk (I've written some of these tunes over 30 years ago and they were first recorded by famous pianist Luca Flores in 1985 ) my passion for bandoneon has led me to play tango more and more around the world.
In this sense, the songs that I have composed are like "vessels" that have allowed me to take off and navigate the seas with the music.
Alternative / complementary to this project there is the CD 2 for solo diatonic accordion blues.
It wants to confirm my vocation to dance music that leaves as much space as possible to swing and improvisation
Esiste fin dagli anni ’20 una “via italiana” al tango sia strumentale che cantata (il tango delle capinere è del 1928). In questo ideale filone si vuole inserisce questo cd in cui sono contenute 12 tracce per bandoneon solo tutte di mia composizione.
Anche se le mie radici musicali affondano nel jazz, nel blues e nel folk (alcuni brani gli ho scritti più di 30 anni fa e sono stati registrati per la prima volta da Luca Flores al piano solo nel 1985)
La mia passione per il bandoneon mi ha portato a suonare il tango sempre più spesso in giro per il mondo.
In questo senso i brani che ho composto sono come “vascelli” che mi hanno permesso nel tempo di prendere il largo e traversare i mari con la musica.
Alternativo/complementare a questo progetto il CD 2 per solo organetto blues a ribadire una mia vocazione a musiche che siano ballabili e che lascino il maggior spazio possibile allo swing e all’improvvisazione .
One spring day back in 1985 I went to Luca Flores’ house and asked him if he would so kindly play and record some songs which I had written. I wanted to hear how they sounded when played by a talented pianist. He was already considered at the top as a musician in Florence while I was still strumming the guitar. Although I already wrote a lot of music, I did not feel ready as a performer. Later I would seriously study composition at the conservatory, but in those days I was writing down notes on music sheets trying to understand what I had done. Today after 30 CDs and many concerts around the world, I decided to record some of these same pieces just with the bandoneon, an instrument I didn’t know when I was young. I fell in love with its bellows over ten years ago and I consider it, more than any other instrument, to be the one which most resonates with my inner strings. This is not a final version. There never will be one. It's like a photo. It captures the moment. I imagine these songs which I wrote to be like small vessels that have allowed me to take off and navigate the world with music. It takes good wood, passion and knowledge to build a vessel that can withstand the oceans. I'm a builder of vessels.

Un giorno di primavera del lontano 1985 mi sono recato a casa di Luca Flores e gli ho chiesto se gentilmente poteva registrare al volo alcuni brani che avevo scritto per sentire che effetto facevano suonati al pianoforte da uno bravo. Lui era già al top nel giro dei musicisti fiorentini mentre io strimpellavo la chitarra. Non ero sufficientemente capace come musicista ma già scrivevo molta musica mia. Anni dopo ho fatto studi seri di composizione al conservatorio. Allora buttavo giù delle note sui fogli di musica e cercavo di capire cosa avevo fatto. Oggi dopo 30 cd e tanti concerti in giro per il mondo mi sono deciso a registrare alcuni degli stessi pezzi da solo al bandoneon, uno strumento di cui allora quasi ignoravo l’esistenza. Mi sono innamorato dei suoi mantici più di dieci fa e lo considero tra tutti quello che più mette in risonanza le mie corde interiori. Non è una versione definitiva. Non ci sarà mai. E’ come una foto. Coglie l’attimo. Immagino questi brani che ho scritto come dei piccoli vascelli che mi hanno permesso nel tempo di prendere il largo e navigare per il mondo con la musica. Ci vuole buon legno, passione e conoscenza per costruire un vascello che regga gli oceani. Io sono un costruttore di vascelli.
